Good morning Monday!!

Well, I'm up and at 'em early this morning. Gotta get Layton off to school and Jaedon off to Pre-K. I was checkin in on things this morning and I realized that I forgot to post some of my work for the monthly challenges at Just Scrappin! I don't know how I did that, but I here they are. My Lo is doing double duty for both the Monthly Sketch Contest and the Monthly Contest. The sketch is pretty straight forward I added my title and substituted flowers for photos. Like I said this also did double duty for me and I used it for the monthly contest as well. For out monthly contest we had to use flowers on our LO, but the twist was to create our own flowers-- none of those store bought ones. Aymee provided some great links with tutorials on some different types of flower making, well, I rolled with one of them, but added my own twist ( I'm gonna post my own directions on how I made my flowers) to them to change things up a bit and make it my own.
The second set of pics here is for the Monthly Challenge. The challenge presented to us was to sew on our LO, card, or altered project or faux stitching. This here is my creation. This is a 4 x 6 card. I cut the flowers & leaves on my cricut, the stems are just 1/4 inch strips that I curled by wrapping them around a pencil. The stamped image is a Studio g stamp.

Here's a close up of my sewing...it's not too great, but hey, it adds some character right! The basket weave is material stitched to cardstock. It made it a little easier to stitching the material to the cardstock then glueing it down --didn't have to worry about the material bunching up.

On a side note I just started joining in on the challenges at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog. One of the new design team members, Ann, is offering some "blog candy" in honor of her becoming a new design team member. Stop by and leave her some love and join in on the challenge on the 14th to try and win yourself a new cuttlebug "Treetops" cutting and embossing set--it's so cute! Have a very scrappy day!
