Stitching Challenge!

This week at Practical Scrappers our weekly challenge was to create a project with some kind of stitching (faux, hand, machine), whatever your preference. I chose to use those Bazzil "In Stitch'z" butterfly template I've had for about 8 months now haven't used--time to be practical and use what you have!!

Here's my LO of the week, I finally got around to scrapping my Superbowl pictures from last year.

and here's my other Superbowl LO, that I got done...just had to share because my mother says she nevers sees any of my LO's with the middle child, Jaedon. Well, now she cannot complain because he made it on here and so did she!! LOVE YOU MOM!!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving all!

Acrylic Paint Challenge!

This week at Practical Scrappers we want you to pull out the dreaded acrylic paint and show us what you can do with that stuff! I've had these soccer pics since my son's first game of the season in September printed out and ready to scrap because I loved them so much!! Then I hit a wall creatively with them and couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with them. I was listening to my favorites on my free playlist at playlist.com and Saliva's "Click, Click, Boom" came on. I did one of those *look at the pictures, look at my computer screen, look at the pictures, look at the computer screen* and I realized my son was doing that-- *going to kick, going to kick, and boom!! big kick*. Well, with a grunge rock song theme inspired LO there was only one thing I could do for my background-- carboard!! I pulled out a good only 12 x 12 piece of cardboard, stripped off the top layer, and painted it up. Of course it also, required distress so I tore up papers and inked the edges. Then for my journaling box with all this distressing going on I had to pull out my Distressed Stripes embossing folder to give it that cardboard look, too. Oh, I also wanted to to tell that for my journaling-- I re-wrote the lyrics to the first verse of the cong Click, Click, Boom (my inspiration) to have a kids soccer theme!
Here's is my version of the lyrics:

On those Sunday's when kids go out and play,
I was out on the field blocking the balls all day!
Wasn't faded,
Not jaded,
Just a kid with a ball and his gloves and a big determination!
All this, I seek I find, I push my body to the line.
Block it,
Save it,
Win it,
Until I'm PRO-RATED!

Now, here's the LO!

Gobble, Gobble!!

It almost turkey time, and we want to see your turkeys on your LO's, cards, or altered project this week at The Cuttlebug Spot! For you this week I created this little Thanksgiving Blessing Mix and container. It was very easy to do...I cut an eight inch circle, then cut that in half. I embosses it with my Harlequin folder, then folded it to make a cone shape. Then I took three strands of raffia and braided it to created the edging of the cone. Next, I just tied a small bow with the pieces of the raffia I had left from braiding and glued it on. I cut the tag on my cricut using the Storybook cart. I cannot remember where I got the turkey paper piercing from (online for free somewhere), but I did alter it up a bit to make it my own. The turkey feathers I embossed with D'Vine Swirls and the turkey body I embossed with Swiss Dots.

Thanks for stopping in and make sure you stop in and leave all my fellow DT sisters some love on their blogs with their fabby designs this week!

This week's prize is a $10 gift certificate to Heart & Soul Rubber Stamp Company . Just click their name to check out the store!

Getting a Bit Fruity...

We are getting a bit "fruity" this week at The Cuttlebug Spot. Our challenge to you this week, gearing up for that Thanksgiving Day feast, is create a project with fruit on in it-- pretty simple! I decided to create an apple shaped card. Shaped cards are not my thing, but I love them so much, so I decided to give it a whirl.

Here's my apple card! I cut out a 5 inch apple on my cricut using the Home Accents cart. Then I just traced my apple on to a piece of folded red cardstock. I embossed with D'Vine Swirls folder, then inked with some red Studio g pigment ink.

here's the inside of the card: these I just cut with the cricut again using the Home Accents cart

Remember to get you entry in for the week! Our UK sponsor The Craft Barn is offering up a 15 pound (or about $25.00 US) gift card to their store. Stop in and check out all the fabulous CB products they have!

Thankf for stopping in!

Here's how can you participate in the tri-challenge:

-Complete one project for each blog's challenge
(If you do this, become a follower for all three sites, AND enter your project on this Mr. Linky -you will be entered to win a prize on all three sites! Yes, you read correctly, all three of us are giving away a prize. Our prize will be a $10 gift card to JuJu Bees!

I could tell you what the challenges are for Frosted Designs and Stuck on U Sketches...but you know it'll be more fun to go look and find out! So hop over there now and get busy on your projects.

Projects must be submitted by 5:00 ET on Friday, November 6th.

Now here's my design for the challenge:
Also to note; I used products from two of our sponsors at Practical Scrappers; The Crafter's Workshop and the Eyelet Outlet & Brads. The little owl brad is from the Eyelet Outlet & Brads and I used a doodling template called "Orchid" to cut the green cardstock and do the doodling of the pink circles.

Thanks for stopping in and remember to join in on the fun of this Tri-Challenge -- you still have a few more hours to get your scrap on!
