Challenge # 37--Celebrate Your Country

It's almost the 4th of July, and it's time to celebrate the birth of our country's independence. This week at The Cuttlebug Spot that's exactly what we are doing! Our challenge this week was to create a project to celebrate our country. I chose this week to scrap the 4th of July last year where the kids and I made some wonderful firecracker hats that we found in a Disney craft book. They had a blast making these and boy, were they the hit at the parade we went to--everyone asked where we got them!

I used my cuttlebug on this LO to create the flowers using the flower die for the cuttlebug, and I embosses them with D'vine Swirls. Also, I used my Nesties Label 4 to cut and emboss my journaling box. All of my paper is from the DCWV 2009 Summer Stack, and my alphas are from Making Memories (red and navy) and Pressed Petals ( light blue). I also attempted some sewing on the LO, but my machine was not cooperating with me when I created this.

Thanks for stopping in this week and have a wonderful 4th of July! We are off to State College, PA (weather permitting) to the wonderful fireworks display there that I so miss from when I was a student at PSU. Keep you fingers crossed for me for a dry 4th!

Great job, Kerri! Love the way you did your title, using different fonts and styles and that red, white & blue paper is so pretty!
